European Spa’s pick of the latest furnishings, equipment and interior finishes for the spa environment

Manutti debuts new colourway for Air

Manutti: To complement its existing offering, luxury outdoor furniture specialist Manutti has unveiled a new Air collection colourway for summer 2015.
Young Belgian designer Koen Van Extergem worked alongside Manutti CEO Stephane De Winter to create the collection which deftly combines fashion
with function.
Its sleek and sophisticated pieces comprise five modules that allow the possibility of transforming from a sunbed to a more formal lounger in a matter of seconds.
First debuted in neutral shades of white and charcoal, the collection is now available in ‘Blue Ice’ and its base can be further customised in any shade available on the RAL colour chart.
The frame is constructed of powder-coated stainless steel and covered in Iroko, an exotic wood that invokes a 1970s aesthetic.
Integrated LEDs underneath the structure of the Air platform combine with a version that has an aluminium top to create a more contemporary style.

Planika unveils new Zen fireplace

Planika: A new portable, ellipse-shaped fireplace with a line of fire running down the middle, Zen blends well with either traditional or modern spa interiors.
Encased in white, with black coated steel on the top of the base to create a sense of visual balance, Zen can be placed almost anywhere in a spa as it doesn’t require a chimney or special ventilation. Instead, the fireplace uses Fanola, a biologically clean, ecological fuel derived from ethanol which is of plant origin and creates only CO2 and water vapour when burned.
Easy to use thanks to intelligent electronics, Zen is equipped with multiple safety sensors, ensuring it is both safe and odourless.

Dornbracht's Comfort Shower and Leg Shower

Dornbracht: The Comfort Shower from Dornbracht provides a seated shower experience that is said to promote deeper relaxation as well as making it easier and more comfortable to carry out active treatments such as scrubs
and massages.
Available in a polished chrome finish, the Comfort Shower includes a rain panel for the ceiling, or a ceiling substructure installation, as well as a waterfall, two water bar-concealed body sprays, an affusion pipe with cover plate and six eValve electronic valves to control water temperature and volume.
Dornbracht’s Leg Shower can be used as an additional feature for the Comfort Shower, or as a standalone addition to a wet area or spa suite.

Gharieni launches the PediSpa

Gharieni: Said to be one of the first five-engined treatment beds of its type, the multi-functional PediSpa is certainly a stylish ‘all-rounder’.
Ideal for performing pedicures and other foot treatments, the chair can also be used for facial and hair therapies as well as manicures (with the addition of optional accessories).
The PediSpa is highly adjustable, enabling therapists to change the inclination of the seat and back as well as the sitting height, the height of the leg rest and the distance between the leg rest and the seat. A manicure bowl and a tablet can be easily plugged into both armrests.
Guests can enjoy a Kneipp shower on their feet and legs via a fusion pipe, while the Superior and Deluxe versions of the PediSpa feature two additional spa programmes – ‘Vitalize’ and ‘Relax’ by FOOT BATH – that have been created by German bathing specialist Dornbracht.
Produced in a standard white Corian with durable imitation leather cushioning, the PediSpa is also available in a range of other colour palettes.

Bespoke marble by Margraf

Margraf: Partner to architects around the world for more than a century, Margraf specialises in supplying uniquely worked natural stone for both interior and
exterior spaces.
Offering more than 200 types of marble and stone in a range of colours, the company’s natural materials can be used on everything from external cladding and curtain walls to fountains, benches, bathroom decoration and planters.
Intended to enhance the existing aesthetic of a property, the marble and stone provides an elegant finishing touch as well as being durable and strong.
Margraf offers exclusive materials from its own quarries, such as Fiorito and Pietra Ducale, while a range of surface finishes, including flaming and bush-hammering, mean the marble can be further customised as well as offering a high degree of slip-proofing when used for exterior paving or wet spa areas.

Størvatt's eco-friendly wood-fired hot tubs

Clear Water Revival: An environmentally-friendly way to enjoy outdoor bathing, Størvatt wood-fired hot tubs use a highly efficient, patented aluminium stove and are almost silent due to the absence of pumping mechanisms.
Combining durable Western Red Cedar with long-lasting stainless steel fittings, the hot tubs can be supplied in three different sizes with the smallest seating up to five people and the largest up to ten.
If used without chemicals the tubs can be incorporated into Clear Water Revival’s outdoor natural swimming pools.
Two electric tubs are also offered: the Basic version has six massage jets and lighting as standard, while the Complete includes a luxury wooden surround and approach steps.

Kaldwei debuts the Conopool

Kaldewei:The new hand-finished Conopool from Kaldewei is styled with a linear, purist aesthetic and is available in individual sizes up to 200 x 130cm.
Conopool can be fitted with Kaldewei’s Vivo Turbo or Vivo Turbo Plus whirl system, and illuminated turbo jets can be added to create further ambience.
Other additions include Comfort Select electronic controls which allow the precise setting of the water temperature and regulation of the water inlet and outflow.
The new Sound Wave bath audio system is another optional extra, providing audio with a Bluetooth-enabled device.
Hygienic and easy to clean, the bath’s surface can be finished with Kaldewei’s special anti-slip coating and it comes with a 30-year guarantee.

Luxurious sheets and blankets from BC Softwear

BC Softwear: BC Softwear’s fleecy blankets are ideal for use on treatment beds or in relaxation areas. Available in colours including aubergine, beige, brown and caramel rose, the super soft blankets can also be embroidered with a spa’s logo.
The luxury textiles supplier has also expanded its Serenity waffle towelling range with the new Serenity Jumbo Towelling Bath Sheet.
The new addition comes with a hemmed head hole and is extra-long, measuring 100 x 200cm.
The sheet will completely cover a treatment bed and is made with 100% pure Egyptian cotton. The Serenity range has been designed to reduce the absorbency of massage oils as well as to repel stains.
Colours available include white, brown, slate grey and pebble.

Gloster's contemporary new outdoor furniture

Gloster: Specialising in the design and manufacture of traditional and contemporary outdoor furniture, British company Gloster’s latest additions are the Bay Reclining Chair and the Bells Side Tables.
The waterproof Bay chair is available with a sling made from a choice of PVC or specially blended textiles. The PVC version comes in white or grey, while the alternative, produced by Sunbrella, is a blend of PVC and acrylic fibres available in granite, seagull or caramel colours. An integrated headrest cushion can be upholstered in a matching fabric and the chair has five reclining back positions.
With organic and fluid lines, Gloster’s Bells side tables, constructed from powder-coated aluminium and buffed teak, are available in coral, aqua, white or meteor with accessories including a tray or ice bucket insert, perfect for guests relaxing poolside.

Duravit unveils ME by Starck and L-Cube

Duravit and Philippe Starck: French designer Philippe Starck has created the minimalist new ME by Starck collection to focus on ‘the essentials’ of the bathing experience.
The collection, which encompasses washbasins, toilets, baths, shower trays and accessories, is described by Starck as being “focused on true ergonomics, true body movements, how the water flows and simply designed by honesty”.
The slender rims of the ceramic washbasins, toilets and baths form a recurrent design element intended to give each product a light, almost rimless appearance.
ME by Starck products can be deftly combined with Duravit’s new L-Cube furniture range. Designed by Christian Werner, L-Cube is defined by geometric lines with rectangular and square furniture fronts. With more than 30 different surface options, L-Cube offers spas the ability to chose the style, size, function and colour to suit their interior aesthetic and finishes.

Innovative scent hubs from Ashleigh & Burwood

Ashleigh & Burwood: The new Amora scent hubs from Ashleigh & Burwood are premium aroma diffusers that use ultrasonic technology to convert water into a fine mist.
Suitable for commercial use, the innovative fragrance product can be used with a range of essential oils and it also displays ambient mood lighting, with both colour-changing and fixed-light versions available.
Crafted either from environmentally friendly rubber wood or hand-finished glass, Amora diffusers include the Flora, which has a natural look and incorporates a geometric design, as well as the classical shape of the Calliope, with hand-moulded glass inspired by traditional paper lamps.
The Apollo and Harmonia designs also feature a high quality, integrated Bluetooth speaker, enabling music to be played when desired.

FIMA floats on a CLOUD

FIMA Carlo Frattini: Designed by Meneghello Paolelli Associates, the CLOUD shower head is composed of two different levels and forms, with the upper plate acting as an LED reflector for mood lighting. Designed to evoke the evanescence of a cloud, the shower head is supplied in chrome with a white plate for mood lighting, with red, green and white lighting effects available. Alternatively, the entire shower and plate can be created in either black or chrome. CLOUD received the Design Plus Award at ISH 2015, a leading trade fair for the bathroom sector. The award celebrates quality and innovation in design as well as environmentally-friendly building systems.
